What is Staron?

Samsung Cheil Industries, Inc., based in Gyeonggi Do near Seoul, is a multinational member corporation of the Samsung Group, one of the world’s largest multinationals. Samsung’s corporate history began in 1938, when the company opened a storehouse and the company’s actual headquarters was built with Cheil Industries in 1954.
Now a major global corporation, Samsung Cheil Industries, Inc. has developed into one of the world’s main manufacturers of textiles, chemicals, and electronic goods. The Cheil Group, together with its European subsidiary, Samsung Chemical Europe GmbH, has long since become one of the world’s leading solid-surface suppliers with its brands, Staron® and Tempest®. Staron® and Tempest® are manufactured using state-of-the-art high-volume production facilities in Yeosu, South Korea.

Any shape, any place
Staron® Solid Surfaces consist of natural minerals bonded by acrylics; Staron® is as decorative as natural stone with the benefits of a solid surface.

Staron is:
- Durable and long-lived
- Resistant to impact, stains and discolouration
- Non-flammable
- Easy to clean and maintain, easy to repair
- Impermeable, seamless and extremely hygienic
(resistant against fluids, dirt, bacteria, mould, germs)
- Homogenous adhesive joins, virtually invisible

These properties give Staron® Solid Surfaces a variety of application areas as versatile as they are individual in residential and commercial settings. Staron® is the material of choice where tough demands are made on hygienic quality, e.g. in medical and laboratory facilities or food-related applications.
Thermoplastic formability is an additional feature in this material. You can fabricate shapes of just about any shape or size – including unusual edge shapes, custom wall joins and back panels, creative design inlays or unusual sculptures.
This is why Staron® Solid Surfaces are far superior to more conventional materials such as granite, marble, tiling or laminate.
